Bikram – Progressive Hatha Yoga

The Faster Path to Flexibility

Master Dev Kapil is a world-renowned yoga teacher and the founder of Progressive Hatha Yoga—an evolution of Bikram Yoga that combines the classic 26 postures with 30 advanced asanas. This dynamic practice is designed for all yogis looking to deepen their regular practice with more strength, flexibility, and mobility. The focus is on targeted hip and shoulder openers, allowing for greater range of motion and enhancing the Bikram Yoga practice.

Who is Master Dev Kapil?

Master Dev Kapil comes from a respected lineage of yogis and began his yoga journey at the age of three in India under the guidance of his father. His grandfather was a renowned astrologer and Vedic scholar, and his spiritual training was initiated by Guru Veet Raag Tapomurti Brahmrishi Danditt Swami Laksheshwarashramji.

With over 20 years of teaching experience, Dev Kapil has trained more than 8,000 yoga teachers worldwide who now teach in studios, fitness centers, therapy clinics, and online platforms. His internationally recognized yoga teacher trainings are continuously refined by his team, keeping them relevant to modern practitioners.

He holds diplomas in naturopathy, a master’s degree in yoga sciences, and extensive knowledge in Ayurveda and astrology. As a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT) under the International Association of Yoga Therapists (USA) and a member of the Yoga Alliance USA (ERYT 500, RPYT, RCYT), he blends traditional wisdom with contemporary insights.

Currently based in Singapore, Dev Kapil is a lead instructor at One Wellness Fitness Club and Bikram Hot Yoga Singapore. His philosophy is:
"The possibilities are limitless. Stay committed… You will succeed."

Process & Conditions

The Progressive Hatha Yoga series follows the same structure as Bikram Yoga:

  • 90 minutes
  • Tropical environment (40°C temperature & 40% humidity)

Since this class includes advanced postures, it is not suitable for absolute beginners and cannot be attended with an INTRO membership.
We recommend some prior yoga experience—ideally, participants should have attended at least
10 Bikram Yoga classes

Class structure

In the Progressive Class, the 26 traditional Bikram postures dynamically alternate with 30 new, advanced yoga asanas.

  • The Bikram postures are practiced fluidly without extensive explanations.
  • The 30 new asanas are demonstrated, explained, and explored together.
  • Everyone does what is possible for them — no pressure, just enjoyment and progress.
