It’s Matcha - the most valuable green tea from Japan - which was reserved only for the emperor and the samurais for 800 years. Japanese warriors drank Matcha before training or a fight which allegedly made them invincible.
Matcha was traditionally planted in the inner courtyard of a monastery and during spring was covered with a bamboo scaffold and reed mats. The second and third leaf of each pale green branch plucked only between the 10th and the 15th of May each year, then carefully dried and slowly ground by hand with a granite stonemill. In this way all nutrition is preserved - a single cup of Matcha has the effect of around 137 cups of normal green tea.
Because the taste of Matcha is relatively bitter, it’s not very suitable to drink pure. The Matcha available at our shop is enriched with pomegranate, blueberries and grape seed extract which improves the taste and doubles the antioxidants. Our Matcha can be simply mixed with cold water.
This is about the pH value of the drink. Carbonated drinks are acidic. The more alkaline the drink, the more toxins can be broken down during Bikram yoga training.
Since we train barefoot, we do not allow glass bottles in the room. Since the usual disposable PET bottles (category 1) release chemicals into the drink when heated, we recommend special sports bottles (available in our shop) that can be safely washed in the dishwasher and reused.
Our body consists of 84 elements. If we are missing one of these trace elements, our body signals, give me salt. Normal table salt (NaCl) has been reduced to 2 elements. But if we are missing another trace element, such as selenium or zinc, we also crave salty things.
If we continue to give our bodies table salt, the spiral of malnutrition begins. We therefore recommend mixing 2-3 pipettes of the Himalayan salt brine we have prepared into your drinking water every time you train. This replaces the minerals that are sweated out.
With a Bikram yoga workout you burn around 800 to 1000 calories. This corresponds to 90 minutes of light jogging.
Our body creates fat cells to protect us from over-acidification. Therefore, the basic requirement for sustainable weight loss is an alkaline diet.
The chlorophyll available in our shop is purely alkaline in nature. One portion of chlorophyll is equivalent to 20 heads of lettuce. It has a neutral taste and is easy to mix with water. In addition, thanks to chlorophyll, our blood can transport more oxygen, which gives us more natural energy and also detoxifies our body.
